Azienda Agricola  Patea is a farm  located in Brancaleone, on the Ionian coast of the province of Reggio Calabria, famous for the cultivation of Bergamot. Bergamot is an exclusive citrus growing up only between Reggio Calabria and Locri and nowadays  it became the symbol of this area.

The Patea Farm, besides being a producer, buys the fruit from many other small local producers and extracts the pure essence, which, besides being the basis of all the best French perfumes, is a great healing, antiseptic,  anti-bacterial,  antifungal and produces excellent  results against many kind of skin diseases.

The intense smell of citrus offers a pleasant feeling of joy, removing depression, sadness and melancholy. For  this reason it is also used  in aromatherapy

In addition to the pure conventional essential oil of bergamot,  Azienda  Agricola Patea also produces   Organic Essential Oil of Bergamot, Lemon, Orange and Green Mandarin.

The  peels, besides being used in the production of the essential oils, are also dried and marketed for different uses as flavoring the tea or preparing healthy herbal teas.

Moreover, recent studies have shown that bergamot’s fruit is a concentrate of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and contains a statin-like molecule that produce a beneficial function on the body, reducing cholesterol and lowering blood glucose levels. In this regard, Agricola Patea, in addition to essential oil and fresh fruit, has launched a range of bergamot products such as honey, jams, candies, biscuits, extra virgin olive oil flavored with bergamot and especially the pure juice.

Very successful was also the frozen, conventional and organic juice, 100% pure, of bergamot, lemon and orange presented at EXPO Milano from 27/07/2015 to 03/08/2015 at the Coldiretti pavilion.

At present the Company can count on over 200 local farmers granting about 3.500 tons of  fruit per season, which is carefully selected  both for  wholesaling or retailing and for processing  the finest essential oil, the juice and the other products.
